Pemberton BC activities, recreation

Nestled between the majestic mountains in the beautiful Pemberton Valley is the growing Village of Pemberton, famous for its virus free seed potato industry.  Pemberton was named for Joseph Despard Pemberton, a surveyor-general for the Hudson’s Bay Company in the 1850’s.  Pemberton entered the age of the railway in 1914, when the first passenger train rolled through bringing with it more families to settle in the Valley. Pemberton has some of the best recreational activities that B.C. has to offer, all in a spectacular setting.

Visit the Pemberton Museum

The original Pemberton Hotel still operates today and the Pemberton Museum consists of a number of original log homes all of which add to the heritage of the area.

Pemberton has now become a four-season outdoor recreational area with so much to offer.

Pemberton GOLF

We always say “golf the Sea to Sky Corridor”.  We are a golfer’s paradise with our local 18 hole municipal course, Pemberton Valley Golf & Country Club and the 27 hole Big Sky course.  The Sea to Sky Corridor offers more.

Whistler has 3 courses - golf the Chateau, Nicklaus North and the municipal course.

The Pemberton Airport

Pemberton Airport has a helicopter service with summer tours/winter powder skiing.

There is a glider school that also offers tours.  With our excellent thermals.... Pemberton is also popular with the hang gliders.
